Elephant Bar

Giving the name Elephant Bar to a place of this manageable size may seem strange. However, for the restaurateur Walid El Sheikh this is by no means a contradiction. “Elephants are active both during the day and the night and are very social creatures”, he justifies the choice of name with a wink. He also has big plans. El Sheikh's goal is to bring sophisticated bar culture to the Altstadt (Old Town). In April 2016, he opened the Clubbar in the premises of the legendary Q-Stalls, an Altstadt (Old Town) institution that enjoyed great popularity for two decades. Expectations were correspondingly high, but Walid El Sheikh was not put out by that. He did not even try to imitate the former cult club, but created a whole new atmosphere. Using dark wood and lots of marble, he designed a modernist 60s interior that blends the well mixed drinks with funk, soul, hip-hop, jazz and electronic sounds. And whoever would like to have this mid-century backdrop all for themselves: This bar on the Kurzen Strasse can also be rented. Lighting and music systems and space for 130 guests are available.
