Düsseldorf to Host DestinationCamp 2025
May 27th, 2024Great excitement at Visit Düsseldorf: The DestinationCamp, the leading event for the tourism industry in the German-speaking world, will take place in Düsseldorf in 2025. From June 3 to 6, 2025, tourism professionals from Germany, Austria, and Switzerland will gather in the Rhine metropolis to discuss current trends and challenges in the industry and develop new ideas.
Düsseldorf's Spirit – an Enrichment for the Event
"The DestinationCamp has developed into a real brand in the German-speaking tourism sector over the past few years and is now a fixed date in the calendar for employees of destinations, service providers, and suppliers," says Jens Ihsen, Director of Düsseldorf Convention and designated Managing Director of Visit Düsseldorf. "We are honored to welcome the participants of this event format to Düsseldorf next year. The state capital Düsseldorf stands for openness and innovation, and we look forward to advancing tourism and socially relevant topics on the Rhine next year," Ihsen continues. Ihsen traveled to Lake Constance specifically to announce at the closing gala of this year's DestinationCamp that the industry event will come to the state capital of North Rhine-Westphalia in 2025.
"We expect around 280 conference participants in 2025 and are convinced that the unique Düsseldorf feeling will enrich the spirit of the DestinationCamp," emphasized Benjamin Buhl when presenting the conference venue in Bregenz. He is the Managing Director of netzvitamine GmbH from Sonthofen and Hamburg and the chief organizer of the industry meeting.
Unique Congress Format
The DestinationCamp is more than just a conference. It is a think tank for executives and motivated creators, a driving force for the industry's agenda, and a place where all tourism segments come together. Participants range from platforms and travel agencies to hotels and leisure providers, destinations, associations, political opinion leaders, and scientists.
In a unique mix of congress, BarCamp, moderated workshops, and professional supporting programs, the DestinationCamp offers a valuable platform for inspiration and exchange. The netzvitamine organization team places special emphasis on environmental friendliness and sustainability. Thus, the DSTNCMP 23 was awarded the "Green Meeting" seal as the first congress in Austria.
About the DestinationCamp
The netzvitamine team launched the DestinationCamp in 2011 and has been bringing together all industry players annually since then for an open and honest discourse. Since 2020, the "think tank of the industry" has been operating under the DSTNCMP brand and is considered not only a driving force in the industry but also a pioneer of "workation" – a modern conference and meeting format that equally combines work and leisure. The term is a portmanteau of the English words "work" and "vacation."
With Düsseldorf as the host, the industry event returns to a German metropolis in its 15th year. This year, the state capital of Vorarlberg, Bregenz, was the host from May 21 to 24, and in 2023, it was Kufstein in Tyrol. In the twelve years before that, the "think tank of tourism" had developed into the leading event in Hamburg, enabling personal exchange among participants without interruption, even during the Corona years.
