Kai Opitz becomes the new Head of Sales and Business Development at Düsseldorf Congress, strengthening the management team

Kai Opitz will assume his position as Head of Sales and Business Development at Düsseldorf Congress GmbH on June 1st.

The 33-year-old business graduate joins the company as an event and sales manager with extensive expertise in event marketing. He brings considerable knowledge in the field of combined event formats, such as conferences with accompanying exhibitions. One of his main focuses will be on expanding customer centricity to provide unforgettable experiences for new and existing customers through professional consultation.

As the new Sales Director, Kai Opitz will oversee the national and international marketing of the Düsseldorf Exhibition Center, including the congress center and the city hall. His core responsibilities also include international positioning and the further development of the overarching sales strategy in collaboration with strong partners.

Kai Opitz brings extensive experience in event and sales management, having studied Trade Fair, Congress, and Event Management and started his professional career at Karlsruher Messe- und Kongress GmbH. He worked as a Sales Manager for Reed Exhibitions, one of the world's leading event organizers. Most recently, he served as a Project Manager responsible for international sales in the Trade Fairs and Congresses division of "Avoxa – Mediengruppe Deutscher Apotheker" based in Eschborn, near Frankfurt.

As the new Sales Director, Kai Opitz will pay particular attention to individual customer satisfaction. "Strong customer relationships are a crucial pillar of our business," explains Kai Opitz. "I strive to provide our clients with the best possible experience."

The appointment of Kai Opitz is also strategically important for Düsseldorf Congress in terms of targeted acquisition of international association congresses. "With his expertise in the congress and event industry, sales experience, and proximity to the medical and healthcare sector, the addition of Kai Opitz underscores our growth ambitions," says Maria Kofidou.
