New website and partner programme launched
May 2, 2019Even faster than before users, and the target group of professional event planners in particular, will now be able to see all factors that advocate staging an event in the powerful meeting and convention location of Düsseldorf on www.duesseldorf-convention.de. The new website is one visible result of the partner programme that was successfully initiated last year and which has already seen almost 90 partners signing up. These most notably include the founding member, Düsseldorf Congress, as well as Messe Düsseldorf, D.Live and the state capital’s major conference hotels.
“For us, the relaunch of the website is a milestone on our way to even better marketing of Düsseldorf as a location for conventions, trade fairs and events of every kind. To create the new structure, we looked at everything from the perspective of professional event planners. This target group is crucial if we want to attract big events to the city. Our new Meeting Guide in particular will make it possible to optimally service the interests and wishes of these event professionals. Düsseldorf Convention is a one-stop shop for all-in solutions whether it’s choosing a venue, finding hotels or putting together a side programme,” says Düsseldorf Convention Director Christian Ortlepp.
Why Düsseldorf?
As soon as they click on the homepage, visitors to the new website will be immediately presented with the best reasons for choosing Düsseldorf. Apart from its outstanding location in the heart of the Rhine-Ruhr metropolitan region, the city also boasts an excellent MICE infrastructure, a state-of-the-art trade fair and conference centre and, of course, Rhenish joie de vivre – a soft factor, but one that should not be underestimated. Visit www.duesseldorf-convention.de for an overview of Düsseldorf’s strengths as an event location.
Meeting Guide as key planning tool
Since online information is constantly becoming more important everywhere, including the international MICE industry, the new website is naturally available in two languages – German and English – and it is optimised for mobile end devices. Then we have the Meeting Guide as an innovative planning tool with which the user can generate offers by specifying just a few details about a planned event. Users can research by category: conference hotels, hotels, event venues, event service providers and side programmes. Planners can simply click to create a wish list and save individual offers so that a concept for the event with various options is created. This overview can be downloaded as a complete document with all information. It is this function, in particular, that is very useful for event planners working for clients because it makes research simpler and enables the results to be presented persuasively.
Düsseldorf Convention Partner
All of the companies who are actively mentioned by Düsseldorf Convention in the Meeting Guide with short, succinct overviews, have become official Düsseldorf Convention partners in recent months and also make an annual financial contribution to its marketing measures. The partner contributions are scaled in a transparent way, based on the given venue’s size or, in the case of hotels, the number of rooms they have.
“Our aim is to truly consolidate the strength of Düsseldorf’s industry players for the first time so that we can have an even greater impact in the market. The partner programme allows us to do just that. One of the things we give our partners is the Düsseldorf Convention quality checkmark which confirms their quality and expertise. We also provide them with extensive marketing support and help them optimise their own offering,” says Ortlepp. Düsseldorf Convention is moreover ramping up its national and international efforts to acquire large-scale conventions, it is referring precise enquiries from planners and it is sharing the results of detailed market research with its partners. Another important aspect is the creation of a communication platform for regular internal dialogue within the Düsseldorf industry. The first networking event – the MICE Forum Düsseldorf – took place in February at the Eventresidenz: a huge success, it was attended by over 120 participants.
